Fresh Choice Shrimp with Mango Yogurt Sauce

 

Popular in all food cultures, freshly peeled, deveined shrimps not only add appeal to a dish, but also provide excellent source of protein for human bodies. Shrimp is actually a very versatile ingredient for making colorful, palatable cuisines. It works well with almost all cooking styles and matches a wild variety of ingredients. Today, I created a healthy shrimp platter with fresh garden greens, avocado, edamane, mango, and plain yogurt.

Ingredients:

– ¼ to ½ cup of freshly peeled, deveined shrimp

– ¼ to ½ cup of organic fresh garden green leaves

– 1 egg

– 1 fresh avocado

– 1 tablespoon of peeled fresh edamame

– 1 small fresh mango

– ¼ cup plain yogurt

– Sugar

– Olive oil

Procedure:

– Peel and cut one half of a small fresh mango into small slices, and then smash into tiny pieces.

– Add ¼ cup of plain yogurt and 1 teaspoon of sugar to the smashed mango. Mix and stir with a spoon until well combined to form a mango yogurt sauce.

– Place washed shrimps in a bowl. Crack an egg and add egg white to the shrimps (do not use egg yolk).  Mix and stir so that the shrimps are breaded with the egg white. The egg white will not only make the shrimps tender but also add a nice aroma to the shrimps after being fried.

– Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add about 3 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan. When the oil sizzles, add egg breaded shrimps to the pan. Flip the shrimps in about 1 to 2 minutes. Repeat until both sides of the shrimps turn golden brown.  Turn off the heat.

– Peel and cut a fresh avocado into small pieces.

– Place one fried shrimp on top of one piece of avocado, then place one peeled edamame on top of one shrimp. Repeat to make a roll of shrimps on the plate.

– Spread the mango yogurt sauce to both sides of the shrimp roll on the plate.

– Wash fresh garden green leaves and place on top of one side of mango yogurt sauce.

Done!

With rich protein from the shrimps, ample calcium from the yogurt, plentiful dietary fiber from the avocado, and abundant vitamins from the garden greens, this cuisine will surely give you wonderful sources of nutrition in addition to great sensual vigor.
